Dr. Thorne grew up in Norwood and has worked at animal hospitals locally in Norwood and Westwood.

Since 2014, she has also served as the animal inspector for the Town of Westwood, supporting the work of animal control and local law enforcement to ensure the health and safety of animals in the community.

A proud pet parent to rescue cats, dogs, and even a guinea pig named Cocoa, Dr. Thorne has provided veterinary care to shelter animals at the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League in West Palm Beach, Florida; the Washington Animal Rescue League in Washington, D.C.; and at the Animal Rescue League of Boston’s Dedham shelter.  Before starting her own clinic, she most recently worked at Westwood Animal Clinic and Norwood Animal Hospital.

The story of Rikki, a Chihuahua with a deformity in her front legs, reminds us that while every animal might not be perfect, it's still possible to make the perfect match with a loving family. Every animal deserves a home for the holidays-Rikki is most definitely enjoying hers!

Outside of the clinic, you will find Dr. Thorne spending time with her husband Joe Ziska, daughter Katherine (see video embedded here of Katherine in 2013 with her dog Rikki), and their animals.  She and her daughter share a love for small pets like guinea pigs, rats, birds and mice.
