Education:    
Dr. Thorne earned her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Florida and a Bachelor of Science in Biology at American University.

Pets:               
3 rescued dogs – Bianca, Rikki, and Calvin
3 adopted cats –  Whiskers, Hoppy, and Sparrow

Dr. Carolyn Thorne has focused on keeping animals with a wide range of personalities, ages, and medical issues healthy and happy for nearly 20 years.  She strongly believes in the benefits of personalized care and opened her state-of-the-art veterinary clinic with your pet’s comfort and providing excellent medical care in mind. Education: Lisa earned a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst where she also minored in Psychology.

1 dog – a Yorkie named Leroy

Megan’s friendly personality, love for animals, and her caring nature make her a great fit for VSW and your pet.  Although Megan has only been working in veterinary clinics for six years, she has experience working in a kennel and grew up around animals and riding horses. 

Nothing gives Megan more satisfaction than seeing healthy patients stay well and helping sick patients get better.

Cassie graduated from UMass Amherst in May of 2020. She has always loved all animals and spends a lot of time watching Animal Planet, especially Dr. Pol. Cassie and her family rescued J.J. from Texas a few years ago. 

Cassie is friendly and caring. She says she enjoys “working at VSW because I love seeing everyone’s adorable animals and helping the pets live their happiest and healthiest lives.”



JEN, certified Veterinary Assistant & Receptionist

Jen received her Bachelor’s degree from Assumption College, majoring in History with a minor in Spanish and a concentration in secondary education. She earned her Master’s in Education from the University of Massachusetts.

After 20 years in the education field, it was time for a change. Jen put her life long love of animals into practice and became a Certified Veterinary Assistant. Although she is new to the field of veterinary medicine, she has volunteered with various animal organizations and has personal experience with pets including fish, hamsters, rabbits, cats and dogs. After having completed an externship at Veterinary Services of Westwood earlier in 2020, she is very excited to continue to learn and help care for animals as part of the team at VSW.

Outside of work Jen enjoys spending time with her family, reading and beachcombing.
